It's amazing that you shared about your foot journey. Though I didn't have any problems (overtly ~ as I believe everyone who wears "normal" shoes actually does have problems... they're just insidious until much later in life....), I believed all the research about the benefits of barefoot shoes and foot health, so I bought a pair. Then another. Then another. Now, I find that I can only wear barefoot shoes!!! I wear "normal" shoes to Mass, but other than that, it HAS to be barefoot shoes. Once you adjust, and your feet get stronger, you realize how horrible your feet feels in regular shoes. I highly encourage everyone to make the switch.

Yes! I'm the same way. Mass shoes are the general exception. Winter is harder because I really prefer just barefoot and neutral sandals. The colder weather requires some kind of toe box and I'm no longer a fan of how that feels. lol It took me a while to adjust to the switch because I had so much weakness and pain from being restricted for so long. At first I didn't believe it was possible to run or play sports, for example, in anything but high support. But strengthening, mobility, and good shoes have done it.

Did you see these "winter boots" from Xero though: https://xeroshoes.com/shop/boots/mika/

I literally just ordered a pair!!! Winter was always harder, but I'm hoping these boots change all that. :-)

haha. Well, I guess I have to admit that I've had a pair for a couple years now. I love them! My daughter owns a pair of the Alpine and I'm considering those for the future for going on winter walks with my husband.
